stereotactic brain biopsy
Stereotactic brain  biopsy involves the creation of a small hole in the skull, through which a biopsy needle will be passed, under computer guidance, to obtain a small sample of the lesion being biopsied.  The procedure is a blind one in the sense that the surgeon does not see the tumor, but relies on a computer guidance system to verify that he/she is in the correct position.  We see pictured here a brain biopsy in progress.  The computer screen is also seen, showing the guidance to the target.
