spinal stenosis

Circumferential narrowing of the spinal canal, seen frequently in the lumbar and cervical spine.  When present in the lumbar spine (lumbar stenosis), patients may experience neurogenic slaudication (pain in the lower extremities with walking and standing).  When present in the cervical spine, if severe, patients may experience spasticity or gait.
