peroneal nerve palsy

The peroneal nerve is a peripheral nerve running in the lower extremity.  It can become injured (from entrapment or pressure in the lower extremity, from diabetes, trauma, or other causes), and this may result in weakness (with lifting up the foot: ie. foot drop), or numbness of the outside of the leg and top of the foot.
