lumboperitoneal shunt

A tube which drains cerebrospinal fluid from the lumbar spine to the abdomen. Generally, one end is placed in the lumbar spinal canal while the other end is tunneled under the skin, around to the abdomen, and inserted into the peritoneal cavity.
