lateral ventricle

The brain has cerebrospinal fluid filled cavities within it.  These are known as ventricles.  There are, within the cerebral hemispheres, two lateral ventricles (one on each side) which drain through the foramen of Monro, into the third ventricle.  This then drains through the aqueduct of Sylvius to the fourth ventricle.
