cerebral perfusion pressure
The pressure which pushes blood into the arteries within the brain is the arterial pressure from the heart pumping, minus the pressure within the brain (intracranial pressure).  This is known as the cerebral perfusion pressure.  When the pressure in the brain increases (such as is that case after significant trauma to the brain), then the perfusion pressure decreases, and when it gets low enough, blood can no longer get to the brain, and irreversible brain damage will ensue.
