spinal cord injury syndrome in which half of the cord is essentially
cut. The patient will experience loss of pain and temperature
sensation on the opposite side of the body, below the lesion.
They will also experience loss of motor function on the side of the
lesion, below the lesion. Causes are usually penetrating trauma,
although large disc herniation, tumors, and avm's may be responsible
as well. |
