amaurosis fugax
Temporary blindness, in one eye, which usually lasts less than one minute.  It is often described as a graying of vision.  The concern is that this may represent an ischemic event (low blood flow) to the central retinal artery (which supplies the retina of the eye), and may be caused by a small plaque which has broken off from the carotid artery.  This is actually a "mini stroke" of the eye.
